“I am confused about mixed signals a woman is sending to me. At the beginning she has been flirty and I felt she liked me. She was also open about her vulnerabilities, told me a lot about herself about her past etc. When I did the same and mentioned some vulnerabilities from my past  she immediately backed away. What is going on?”

The reason for that can be family model she had. Maybe her father was ta ypical macho guy who has never shown much of emotions and she just doesn’t know how to behave in this sort of situation. That’s why she backs away.
You may have some compatibility issues with her. She will not be able to understand much of your cause and act with empathy, there will be clashes!

Disclosing too much of yourself early on can have negativeside effects.There is a time and place for that, but later on , not at the beginning.
